On my second trip to Australia, I wanted to go beyond the big cities I had already visited—Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney, and Perth. This time, I set my sights on new destinations, including Adelaide, Hobart, Uluru, and Darwin.
Adelaide stood out to me not only because it’s Australia’s fifth-largest city and a renowned wine region but also because it offers something truly special for stargazing enthusiasts!
Before heading off for my stargazing adventure, I took the opportunity to explore Adelaide itself. It offers such a gorgeous mix of historical charm and modern vibrance; please enjoy some pictures of this lovely trip
Strolling along North Terrace, I was struck by the contrast between old and new—historic institutions like the South Australian Museum and the grand State Library stood alongside sleek, modern buildings, all lining this wide and impressive boulevard
Rundle Street, the busiest shopping area in Adelaide’s city centre. This vibrant precinct is well-known for its historic Adelaide Arcade and, of course, the Rundle Mall.
The mix of heritage and modern design makes it a fascinating place to explore, with beautiful architectural details complementing the bustling energy of shoppers.
Adding to the charm are the modern art sculptures scattered throughout, the quirky pigeon sculpture, and ‘The Rundle Mall Pigs,’ all of which bring a playful character to the area
I was also lucky enough to visit Adelaide during the festive season, and the holiday spirit was in full swing.
Inflatable Santas were scattered throughout the area in hilarious poses—some snapping, others donning festive sweaters, and even lounging in beachwear, a playful reminder that Christmas in Australia means summer, not snow.
The mix of holiday cheer and warm weather made for a fun and unique atmosphere, adding an extra layer of charm to the city.
It was the perfect way to take in the city’s character before venturing out into the darkness for an unforgettable night under the stars
